A Just Mississippi Is Possible.

Let’s Build It Together.

About Us

Mississippi for a Just World (MSJW) is a humanitarian organization based in Mississippi that bridges the fight to build a more just world from the Deep South to the Global South. Our goal is to be a living, breathing movement for human rights, deeply rooted in the enduring legacy of Mississippi's human liberation struggle. Across borders and cultures, irrespective of our different political, cultural and social backgrounds, we are fighting for a world where every individual is empowered, where justice prevails, and where human dignity is non-negotiable.

MSJW was born in 2024, in response to the growing Palestine solidarity movement in Mississippi. We sought to coordinate, inform, and resource the grassroots energy behind human rights movements and anti-war protests across the state. Today, MSJW partners with local, national, and international organizations to train, educate, advocate, research, and base-build towards our shared liberation.

Our Work

Roooted in

History

Mississippi for a Just World (MSJW) is part of the rich organizing history of the global south. Mississippi is the blueprint for the continued fight for social change and will remain connected to the global ecosystem of oppression and resilience. We endeavor to be the epicenter of progress by connecting Mississippians to the worldwide movement of struggle and justice. It is through this lens that we reimagine what it means to fight back. Our efforts to reach across racial lines and form alliances with people of all backgrounds, exemplifies the true power of community. Coalition-building across races for a working-class consciousness is what threatens the capitalist infrastructure across the globe. It is from this grounding that we strive to shape a world that is just and equitable for all its inhabitants. We recognize and honor these legacies as foundational to our work and analysis.
